Cloud Migration

As an Atlassian customer using Jira or Confluence on server, you’re probably already familiar with Atlassian's plan to move the customer base to cloud until 2024. If you’re already using one of our apps for Server, you can change your subscription to Cloud.

This page describes the automated migration using the Jira Migration Assistant.

Migration path

For a general overview on the migration visit Use the Jira Cloud Migration Assistant to migrate | Atlassian Support.

The migration will be fully automatic once Atlassian’s App migration platform is released. You can currently choose to participate in their Early Access Program (EAP).

Manual steps after migration

Make sure to create an application link in your Jira Cloud instance, too, to enable OAuth connections from the Outlook Add-In: Create application link (yasoon.com).

Migrated data

All app data will only be migrated, if they do not exist in the Jira Cloud instance.
Existing app data in the Jira Cloud instance will not be overwritten.

Email feature / Outlook Email for Jira

In the automated migration all your admin settings and project settings will be migrated to your Jira Cloud instance.

Meetings feature / Outlook Meetings for Jira

In the automated migration all your admin settings and project settings will be migrated to your Jira Cloud instance. The history of scheduled meetings linked to Jira issues will be migrated.

Teams feature / Microsoft Teams for Jira

In the automated migration all your admin settings will be migrated to your Jira Cloud instance. In addition, all related chats and channel conversations for Jira issues will be migrated.

Feature differences Cloud vs. Server / Data Center

Microsoft 365 for Jira is a Jira Cloud-first app - so there are a couple differences between the Jira Cloud app and the version for Jira Server and Data Center.

Thriving for feature similarity on all delivery models, there are new features for Server / Data Center on the roadmap.

Also, a few features are only available for Jira Service Management as they solely relate to ITSM.
