Add Jira issue comments in MS Teams

There is a major status update? Add this Microsoft Teams message to your Jira comments. We recommend using Jira comments for bigger status updates, new specifications, or any other major information.

How-to

Jira issue comments can be based on any MS Teams channel conversation or chat!

• Select a channel conversation → Click on the menu dots → Choose “more actions” → Add Jira issue comment (see screenshot above)

• A dialogue opens → Fill in the required fields → Add comment (to issue)

Link conversation

• Select the “link conversation” checkbox → Message will be linked to Jira issue

• Advantage: The whole message thread will be visible in Jira!

Feature requirements

In order to add MS Teams conversations as a Jira issue comment, the following set-up and configuration needs to done:

• Step 1: Activate Teams feature in the admin settings JIRA ADMIN TO DO

• Step 2: Install the Microsoft Teams app MS 365 ADMIN TO DO MICROSOFT TEAMS OWNER TO DO

Jira & Microsoft deployment

• Jira Cloud, Jira Server & Data Center (Server needs to be publicly available)

• Microsoft 365 & MS Exchange
