Our Microsoft Teams integration lets you use a dedicated Teams space chat being directly accessible from your Jira board.
Whether you create a new Jira space or work in existing spaces, the space chat appears automatically in the Jira navigation as a separate tab.
In JSM projects, the space chat appears in the Jira navigation on the left.
In Jira software projects, the space chat is accessible in the navigation bar at the top.
Feature at a glance
Use space chats in Jira to keep the team aligned on projects and share updates. Display the chat in work items of your Jira space, if desired.
Configure the space chat
When setting up a space chat, decide if you want to create new chat for this space or if you want to sync an existing chat.
Existing chat
Choose the chat via the dropdown.
Decide on chat settings:

Create new chat
Create a specific space chat with all/relevant team members of the space.

You can use only one space chat per Jira space.
Define chat settings
You can configure chat settings before or after setting up a space chat.

Show chat in work items: As soon as the chat is created/an existing chat is linked to the space, the chat will also be visible in all work items of the space

Post new work items into chat: Newly created work items (definable per type) are posted as an adaptive card into the space chat.

Unlink chat: This setting is available, after the space chat has been set up. If the chat is no longer needed or another chat needs to be linked, the current chat can be unlinked at all times.
Stay in sync with the team
Collaborate across work items on joint projects via space chat.
If defined in the settings, access the space chat from any work item of your Jira space. Join the conversation, leave updates or reach out to team members by tagging them and keep projects going.
Information shared remains accessible in each work item, simplifying project management across the space.
Feature configuration
With space chats in Jira, you can share project related information centrally and reach all relevant team members simultaneously.
Both, the admin and user can set-up and configure space chats.
Admin configuration
No explicit configuration is required.
The space chat comes automatically when the Teams feature is activated by the Jira admin.
The Jira admin must configure our Teams app first. After configuration, space chats become available in every Jira space.
User configuration
No explicit user configuration is required.
The feature can be used straightaway.
